Better Backbone Applications With MarionetteJS Giveaway

This post serves a dual purpose: first of all it is to announce (to anyone who hasn’t see the original announcement on my social media accounts) that the book that I’ve been writing for the past year - that has kept me from more actively working with my blog - is finally finished! Second, I’m giving away 3 copies of that very same book! That’s right, I’m holding two giveaways at once: one for Backbone.js Patterns and Best Practices and one for my very one Better Backbone Applications with MarionetteJS!

NOTE: This Giveaway has ended.
Sorry you missed it!

Once again, for this giveaway we’re giving away 3 copies of the ebook, 1 to each of 3 lucky winners. Let’s take a peek at the book you’ll be entering to win.

Better Backbone Applications with MarionetteJS

If you were previously reading my Marionette series of articles on Smashing Magazine and waiting for the next article to show up, then you apparently haven’t heard that the series was being turned into a book. This is that book, which you can purchase directly from Smashing Magazine if you’re not one of the lucky winners.

Better Backbone Applications with MarionetteJS

Better Backbone Applications with MarionetteJS gives you in-depth descriptions and tutorials for each component of Marionette to give you the full understanding of what each component is for and what it can do for you. After you learn about each component, you will walk through building an application with Marionette so you can see most of the components used in the context of an application rather than just looking at each of the components on its own.

How Do I Enter?

You have a few ways to enter:

  • Leave a comment below (make sure your comment profile has your actual email address) saying “I want one please!”
  • Post a tweet on Twitter that says “I wanna win Joe’s ‘Better Backbone Applications with MarionetteJS’ from @joezimjs and @smashingmag! XXX #BBBAMGiveaway”. Retweets from other people’s entries count too.
  • Post a message on Google+ and/or Facebook that says “I wanna win Joe’s ‘Better Backbone Applications with MarionetteJS’ from joezimjs.com! http://ow.ly/vQGrM" Afterward leave a comment on this page with links to each post you put up. You may add these links to the end of the comment that you post for the first entry option or post the links separately from any other comments.

You may use any or all of entry methods, and you gain one entry for each one you do. You may use each method of entry only once for a maximum of 4 total entries: 1 comment stating you want the book, 1 Twitter post, 1 Google+ Post, and 1 Facebook post.

Winning

On May 1, 2014, I will randomly select 3 winning entries. I will contact each of the winners that day. If you win via your Twitter post, I will contact you via direct message on Twitter, otherwise, I will contact you through the email address that is used for your comment. Please use a real email address in your comments so that you can be contacted. If I don’t receive a reply from a chosen winner within 30 days, the winner will become ineligible and I will randomly draw a new winner to replace that winner. The same 30 day cycle will apply for any new winners.

Deadline

All entries must be in by April 30, 2014 at 11:59PM Central Standard Time. Any entries added after that do not count toward the giveaway.

That’s All

Thanks everyone! Good luck! God bless and Happy Coding!
